As described in the history of the LDO, the first EWM treatment took place in 2009 with the assistance of the DNR. After that,  EWM was not noticed again until 2013 but funding was not available until 2015. 2015-2016 the highest density areas were treated with 2-4D. In 2017 the Mid-lake and shoreline treatments were combined to increase whole lake herbicide concentrations of 2-4D. This combined treatment method provided whole lake seasonal management and was used again in 2018 with Diquat herbiside.
